Portraits, Commercial Architectural, Special Events Photography
The art of the Equine & Human Portrait is all about capturing the relationship between people and their horses. As a member of the Equine Photographers Network, Heather Swan has had the opportunity to work under some amazing Equestrian Artists and Equine Photographers. Heather has learned a great deal about Equine and Human portraits from Minnesota based Photographer Shelley Paulson—who has an amazing talent for capturing the true feeling of the relationship people have with their horses. "I am so thankful to Shelley for sharing her expertise and teaching me to see with light! The biggest thing I learned from Shelley is that it is all about the connection, the connection between me and the subject, but more importantly, between horse and handler—their relationship, and capturing it."
The photo session will last up to 2 hours with unlimited shooting -- with several combinations of poses. The photo session will be at one location in Eastern Ontario*, but we will use different setting within that location. Typically our team will go to your stable or farm for the session. Having said that, if you have a beautiful spot in mind* and a trailer—anything is possible!
After careful editing and post processing, the selection of your photographs will be ready to view the following week. We will set-up a follow-up appointment to review your proofs.
As a member of the Equine Photographers Network, Heather has the opportunity to receive education through workshops and seminars, and continues to learn, by some of the world’s most outstanding equine photographers. Carien Schippers has taught her the basics of taking outstanding quality Stallion Promotion, At Liberty and Conformation Shots.
